DFA - Drama

The last assignment of the semester for DFA. A painting that focuses on drama and creative use of composition. This scenario is based off of an early character design I did of a Zombie Juicebox. Enjoy.

The Waiting Assignment

Artie waits for his photo I.D. Enjoy!

Environment Painting

Yet another project from DFA. This time we had to create an environment using only value and incorporate some characters into the scene. The spot color of the foliage was optional.

DFA - Silhouette Creations

This was actually the first project from DFA (Drawing for Animators), I'm just a bit late on posting. We started out with abstract silos and doodles and forced them into characters. This is a truly invaluable exercise. Here is some of the process work and the final designs.

Playing with Ink and Tablet

It's been a long time since I've used ink, yet I found some inspiration from a friend of mine Lamar. He posted a little demo on facebook and figured I have a go. I only had a brush pen to work with and my confidence with laying down bold strokes is still pretty low.

Miami Strut

Artie or as I call him, Arto, is headed to the club to try his luck with the ladies.

A walkcycle exercise using the Artie rig. I took liberties on the textures. Florida rubs off on ya.

Oh and the music is Rick James - Give It to Me Baby. In case you don't know that awesome track.
